Renters Insurance
Renters Insurance Is Affordable

Whether you are renting an apartment in a two-family home or a condo in a high-rise building, you need renters insurance. If you rent a whole house or a vacation unit, you need renters insurance, too. Renters insurance is very reasonably priced these days. You’d be surprised how little it takes to get the coverage you need. Renters insurance protects you and your belongings, at home or away from home. As a renter you are responsible for accessing the value of your personal property and having it properly insured. If you think your possessions are worth very little, think again! Just a little research will remind you of how much you’ve invested and how much you need to protect. Call a Linares Insurance agent to discuss renters insurance, and ease your mind.

My personal possessions are valuable?

Personal property includes your clothing, your portable appliances, your furnishings and more. Do you own a piano or a guitar? What about a digital camera, an HDTV or a racing bike? Do you own a laptop, vintage collectors’ items or a variety of artworks? You would be amazed by how much your personal possessions are actually worth! Remember, renters are just as vulnerable as homeowners to damage or loss of their personal belongings. Make sure you are covered so you can reduce your financial risk and recover valuable items you’ve lost.

What if someone is injured in my home?

What about your personal safety and the safety of your guests and visitors? Renters insurance can mitigate your financial liability if someone is injured on your property and sues you for compensation.

Linares Insurance provides the following coverage for renters:

Personal Property Coverage

Renters insurance covers your possessions in the event of damage caused by vandalism, theft, smoke, fire, and certain kinds of water damage. This covers not only your rental unit, but your car as well. If your personal property is damaged while in your car, you’re covered. It doesn’t matter if you are taking a 200-mile trip or picking up groceries at the corner market. If you’re moving, renters insurance covers you there, as well. If your personal belongings are damaged during the move, you can put in a claim.

Note: You may want to get separate insurance for your more valuable possessions, like your home computer, iPad or smartphone. Ask a Linares Insurance representative about additional coverage for peripheral devices, software, and media. Linares Insurance also offers blanket jewelry coverage, which provides additional protection for all your jewelry under a single combined limit. Ask about valuation proof at the time of loss.

Liability Insurance

If a friend or visitor is injured in your rental home and sues you, liability insurance will cover your legal expenses and awarded damages, up to a specified limit. Liability insurance can also cover living expenses if you have to move out of your rental apartment because of damage to your property or furnishings. If you damage someone else’s property by accident, you’re covered up to a specified limit.
